Walking Tour at the University of Delaware

To commemorate the International Day for Tolerance on November 16, Mirko Ilic held a walking tour through the Tolerance Poster Show at the University of Delaware's main campus. 


The event was attended by students and university professors, including Suzanne Burton, Sr. Associate Dean at the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), José-Luis Riera, Vice President for Student Life and Blažo Kovačević, who helped organise the exhibition and walking tour. This event was brought to life through the support of the Visiting Speaker Committee of the Department of Art and Design along with contributions from the Margaret P. Allen Endowed Lectureship Fund.

Lectures on "Citizenship and Tolerance" in Portugal

We are pleased to let you know that in parallel with hosting the Tolerance Poster Shows, ” Politécnico da Guarda “ (IPG), " UNITA - Universitas Monitum " and " Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior " (The Directorate General for Higher Education), an organization part of the "Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation" are organizing series of lectures on "Citizenship and Tolerance".  The lectures will be held in the different IPG schools. The first lecture is about the legacy of the Portuguese consul  Aristides Sousa Pereira . During the Second World War, he helped Jews in Germany to obtain Portuguese passports, and later he did the same with Jews in France. Despite the huge problems caused to him by the Portuguese fascist regime, Aristides Sousa Pereira managed to save 30,000 refugees, of which 10,000 were Jews.
