On November 23rd 2022, I gave the lecture "Design Activism" on the importance of free expression and art activism at Chavón Campus La Romana in La Romana, the Dominican Republic. After that, I had a three day Tolerance poster workshop with students from different countries with assistance from professor Elías Roedán. On January 9th, the school will hold a show of the posters created by the students at the workshop at Chavón Campus Miraflores in Santa Domingo. The workshop was organized and made possible by Adolfo Lucero, Vice Chancellor, Elías Roedán, Academic Coordinator and Martha Victoria, Administrative Director at CHAVON The School of Design.
THE TOLERANCE PROJECT has brought a message of social acceptance to over 400,000 people in 46 countries. Founded by artist-activist Mirko Ilić, this initiative showcases posters designed by artists from around the world. THE TOLERANCE PROJECT starts a conversation about inclusion, which can only begin with a foundation of tolerance. The show utilizes the unique power of design to remind us what we all have in common.
