Tolerance Posters

I am excited to announce that the Tolerance Poster Show will be presented at the LUMINE ART FAIR at LUMINE ZERO in Shinjuku, Tokyo, from November 2nd to 4th, ahead of UNESCO’s International Day for Tolerance on November 16. We are grateful to curator Aya Komboo, Professor Matthew Waldman, and SAMCARA Lab at Keio University Graduate School of Media Design for their relentless efforts that brought the show to life, starting with its 2023 debut at the Roppongi Art Fair. I recently came across this blog post on the prestigious Japanese blog "Spoon & Tamago" . The post is about the first Tolerance Poster Show in Tokyo , Japan, and talks about the importance of this kind of show in raising awareness of tolerance and equality. "Curated by Aya Komboo and Matthew Waldman, the exhibition seeks to raise awareness for all forms of diversity, from gender to LGBTQ, while also acknowledging Japan’s inaction and lack of awareness when it comes to equality. Japan consistently ranks low when it comes to inclusivity and diversity, especially compared to other developed nations."    

Here is a video of the billboard announcement of the Tolerance Poster Show displayed as part of the Roppongi Art Night . Roppongi Art Night is one of the largest art festivals in Tokyo, Japan. The announcement will repeat once every 5 minutes for 9 days at the Omotesando crossing.    

This is the press release for the first Tolerance Poster Show in Japan.  The show will be a part of this year's   Roppongi Art Night , Tokyo's most   important two-day art festival on May 27/28 (Sat/Sun). While the event   recorded over 800,000 visitors in the past, this year's attendance is expected to   exceed 1,000,000. The Tolerance Poster Show will be displayed on art boards   along Roppongi street prior to other programs beginning May 23 (Tue). This show was made posible by director Aya Komboo, professor Matthew Waldman, and   SAMCARA Design Lab of Keio University's Graduate School of   Media   Design , and with much help from   Yuko Shimizu .
