"Citizenship and Tolerance" Lectures at Schools in Guarda

We are pleased to share that on March 20th, in parallel with the Tolerance Posters Show, the   School of Education, Communication, and Sports , part of Politécnico da Guarda, organized a lecture titled "The Fight Against Poverty and Social Exclusion is a Mission for All: And You, Are You Going to Be Left Out?" The lecture was given by Cátia Azevedo, representing   EAPN - European Network Against Poverty . In today's global and intercultural world, new questions have emerged regarding human rights. To promote knowledge and discussion on these topics within the academic community, the Citizenship and Tolerance lecture series will take place from March to June, in partnership with the "Step by Step..." project and UNITA.  

Lectures on "Citizenship and Tolerance" in Portugal

We are pleased to let you know that in parallel with hosting the Tolerance Poster Shows, ” Politécnico da Guarda “ (IPG), " UNITA - Universitas Monitum " and " Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior " (The Directorate General for Higher Education), an organization part of the "Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation" are organizing series of lectures on "Citizenship and Tolerance".  The lectures will be held in the different IPG schools. The first lecture is about the legacy of the Portuguese consul  Aristides Sousa Pereira . During the Second World War, he helped Jews in Germany to obtain Portuguese passports, and later he did the same with Jews in France. Despite the huge problems caused to him by the Portuguese fascist regime, Aristides Sousa Pereira managed to save 30,000 refugees, of which 10,000 were Jews. Tolerance Poster Show in Skopje

Here is the first announcement for my lecture 'Design Activism' on December 12th in the amphitheater of the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje, North Macedonia. Additionally, on December 6th, the Tolerance Poster Show will open at the Faculty of Architecture, both in the gallery and on the street in front of the building. Walking Tour at the University of Delaware

To commemorate the   International  Day for Tolerance   on November 16, Mirko Ilic held a walking tour through the  Tolerance Poster Show   at the University of Delaware 's main campus.  The event was attended by students and university professors, including Suzanne Burton,  Sr. Associate Dean at the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) , José-Luis Riera, Vice President for Student Life and Blažo Kovačević, who helped organise the exhibition and walking tour. This event was brought to life through the support of the Visiting Speaker Committee of the Department of Art and Design   along with   contributions from the Margaret P. Lecture "Symbols of Hate"

As a part of the celebration of the Day for Tolerance (November 16th), Europe House in Sarajevo organized a Tolerance Poster Show and invited me to give an online lecture "Symbols of Hate" on Wednesday, November 15th. The purpose of the lecture is to educate the audience about old and new symbols of hate used by different groups of Neo-Nazis, racists, and other bigots.   You can read more here about the Tolerance Poster Show and lecture in Sarajevo here .    

"Design Activism" at National Museum of Zrenjanin

I am happy to share with you that on April 23rd, 2023, I held a lecture in the exhibition hall of the National Museum of Zrenjanin in Serbia entitled " Design Activism " , accompanying the Tolerance Poster Show in Belo Blato, a small village near Zrenjanin. The lecture is about the necessity of freedom of expression and the need for artistic activism. The organizer of the lecture at the National Museum of Zrenjanin was curator and art historian Dejan Vorgić with the support of Marta Aničić (AirMarta) and Salaš Lujza , who are the organizers of the Tolerance Poster Show in Belo Blato.
