Tolerance on Veterans Day

In commemoration of Veterans Day, November 11th, the University of Delaware has decorated The Green with American flags. Together with   the Tolerance Poster Show—"Tolerance on the Green" , it creates quite a striking and powerful scene.  "Tolerance on the Green" opened on The Green at the University of Delaware on November 1st and will be on display until November 30th.

On February 2nd, the  Tolerance Poster Show  opened in the Colonnade windows of the Foundation Building of The Cooper Union in New York. "Poster Man" by Seymour Chwast

I just received a new book titled Poster Man by Seymour Chwast. The book has a selection of 140 most important posters from the five-decade career of Seymour. I am especially pleased because in the book Seymour decided to also include the Tolerance poster he created in 2017 for my Tolerance Poster Show . On top of that, this Tolerance poster is sharing the spread with one of my favourite posters of Seymour's, Protest Against The Rising Tide of Conformity . I am obviously not the only one with that opinion. In 1964, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez decided to take a few pictures in front of that poster.          

Second Tolerance Poster Show at Maine College of Art, USA

From December 13th 2019 to February 22nd 2020 , the Maine College of Art featured the Tolerance Poster Show. In the time of a Pandemic, it seems as though we need Tolerance more than ever. Due to this, the Maine College of Art has realized and reconfigured a new version of the Tolerance Poster Show that is showcased in the in the street-side windows of the school.

The Tolerance Poster Show in Shenandoah University, USA

Because of the Coronavirus threat, we have a "soft opening" of the Tolerance Poster Show in Shenandoah University , Virginia. The posters are on display in the HLSB’s Halpin Rotunda and lobby. At this point the university campus is closed, but the show will stay open until the safe return of the students. This show was made possible with the dedicated effort of Matthew Klein.

Tolerance Poster Show at Maine College of Art, USA

Here are some photos of the Tolerance Poster Show from the Maine College of Art. The show will be on view from December 13th to February 22nd. The Show Reception will take place on February 7th. This show was made possible with the dedicated effort of Julia Porter Santos and Drew Hodges.

Tolerance Poster Show in MICA, Baltimore, USA

Here are photos from the Tolerance Poster show at MICA, Maryland Institute College of Art . Which opened September 9th and it is closing Friday, September 19th. The show was organized and made possible by the generous efforts of Brockett Horne, C hair of graphic design.  

Tolerance posters show in Philadelphia, USA

As a part of the "Design + Politics/Getting Personal: A Panel Discussion" at University of the Arts, the Tolerance posters show is on on display at the Center for Architecture and Design, in Philadelphia. And the other part of the show is on display in the halls and offices of the University of the Arts, 211 South Broad Street, in Philadelphia. The show is organized by professor Angela Riechers. The selection and mounting of posters were done by the students.   

Tolerance Posters in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

On January 23rd the Tolerance Poster Show was open in Salt Lake City, Utah. It happened simultaneously in a few different locations and there is more to come. The show appeared on the streets and appeared in a local park that currently is under construction. Salt Lake County Art and Culture Center is debuting posters and showcasing them on a screen at Salt Lake Film Society, in the main theater. This theater will also be hosting The Sundance Film Festival, where all visitors will have a chance to see Tolerance posters. At the same time the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center were displaying the posters in their lobby. The show is also featured in Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) ACME Lab . Due to limited space not all posters were possible to be displayed in the gallery. But all posters were displayed on computer screens.
