Tolerance Posters

It is my pleasure to let you know that  on July 26th,  the Tolerance Poster Show in  designforum Wien  in Vienna was featured in the news segment of  ORF – The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation . ORF is Austria’s largest media provider, operating four national television and twelve radio channels as well as a comprehensive range of websites.  Here is the link to the broadcast.  You can watch it for six days after it is put online.  The Tolerance Poster Show in Designforum Vienna is our 170th show.  

I am pleased to let you know that today   Steven Heller   published a post about the "Students for Tolerance" workshop in his prestigious blog "The Daily Heller". Inspired by the "Tolerance Project", this initiative was started by   Tomislav Bobinec   a professor at the Institute of Design and Communication at FH Joanneum Graz in Austria. This is the second year of the "Students for Tolerance" workshop and is a collaboration of art school students from different European countries. You can read Steven Hellers post here .  

I just recently received the new issue of   IT’S A PASSION THING   magazine. In this issue, Karin Novozamsky conducted an interview with me about Tolerance Project.  IT’S A PASSION THING is an Austrian biannual magazine, celebrating aptitude and passion in creating a style of life. "From artisanal craftsmanship to modern digital design to serial entrepreneurs – IT’S A PASSION THING offers a contemporary perspective on making things become reality. Focusing on the identity, personality and individuality of those makers, IT’S A PASSION THING showcases inspirational people, stories and products from all over the globe. The interviewees open their doors and allow us to see their process, success stories and failures."

Tonight was the opening of the "Student for Tolerance" show. The poster exhibition explores the question of what tolerance is and  how it can be represented visually.  Design students from Dortmund, Graz, Ljubljana and Zagreb dealt with the question of how strong visual concepts and messages on the topic of tolerance can be developed with the help of various design techniques. The results were translated by the students into individual posters, which are presented as part of the exhibition “Students for Tolerance”. The resulting works are characterized by diverse design approaches and range from the classic poster to the mixed reality poster to  Tonight is the opening of the Student for Tolerance show. On April 11th, the workshop "Students for Tolerance" kicked off with my lecture to the students from Zagreb/Croatia, Dortmund/Germany, Ljubljana/Slovenia and Graz/Austria. They will be working together on Tolerance posters for this entire week. 31 students from 6 nations are participating in the workshop, and they have been working on individual design concepts for Tolerance posters. The posters created in the workshop, as part of the  Design Month Graz , will be displayed in a show that takes place at Joanneumsviertel Graz on May 12th.  The following 4 colleges are participating in the workshop: The University of Zagreb Fachhochschule Dortmund - University of Applied Sciences and Arts The Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana FH JOANNEUM - University of Applied Sciences I would like to recognize the relentless efforts of Tomislav Bobinec, professor at FH JOANNEUM Design & Kommunikation in Graz, who conceived the idea for the worksho...
