Tolerance Poster Show at the Youth Cultural Center, Skopje, North Macedonia

The Tolerance Poster Show was part of “Defending European Values in the Accession Process”, an event which hosted more than 100 of the most prominent human rights defenders from the Western Balkans, Turkey and Central Europe. The event was held on December 2-3 2019 at the Youth Cultural Center in Skopje, North Macedonia.

"With this we wish to stress the importance that the European Union accession process plays and can play in the years to come for the six countries of the Western Balkans and for Turkey in terms of rule of law, human rights and peace processes in the region; Wish to underline yet again that a path towards accession to the European Union is a fundamental opportunity for the improvement of the human rights situation in the Western Balkans and Turkey, as well as for the countries’ democratization"

The event and the show was organized by the Civil Rights Defenders.

Walking Tour at the University of Delaware

To commemorate the   International  Day for Tolerance   on November 16, Mirko Ilic held a walking tour through the  Tolerance Poster Show   at the University of Delaware 's main campus.  The event was attended by students and university professors, including Suzanne Burton,  Sr. Associate Dean at the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) , José-Luis Riera, Vice President for Student Life and Blažo Kovačević, who helped organise the exhibition and walking tour. This event was brought to life through the support of the Visiting Speaker Committee of the Department of Art and Design   along with   contributions from the Margaret P. Tolerance Poster Show in Skopje

Here is the first announcement for my lecture 'Design Activism' on December 12th in the amphitheater of the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje, North Macedonia. Additionally, on December 6th, the Tolerance Poster Show will open at the Faculty of Architecture, both in the gallery and on the street in front of the building. Lecture "Design Activism" in Skopje, North Macedonia

On December 5th, Mirko Ilić gave a lecture on design and activism in front of more than 200 guests at the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje, North Macedonia. The lecture is part of Ilic’s visit to Skopje, which accompanies the opening of the Tolerance Poster Show. Ilić's lecture was introduced by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Ognen Marina, and a speech was also given by the founder of Vidi Vaka, Goran Igić, who also organized these events. Among the attendees were high school pupils from the School of Art and the gymnasium Orce Nikolov, deputy minister of Police, Mr. Vlatko Mitkovski, with teachers from the Police Academy, activists, representatives of the civic sector, Open Society Foundation, NDI and representatives of the design and comic books community.
