"Poster Man" by Seymour Chwast

I just received a new book titled Poster Man by Seymour Chwast. The book has a selection of 140 most important posters from the five-decade career of Seymour.

I am especially pleased because in the book Seymour decided to also include the Tolerance poster he created in 2017 for my Tolerance Poster Show.

On top of that, this Tolerance poster is sharing the spread with one of my favourite posters of Seymour's, Protest Against The Rising Tide of Conformity. I am obviously not the only one with that opinion. In 1964, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez decided to take a few pictures in front of that poster.

Tolerance Poster Show in Taipei, Taiwan

On November 24th, we had the opening of the Tolerance Poster Show in the Ximen Red House in Taipei. The Red House is a historical building that has over 500 visitors per day.   The Tolerance Poster Show takes place alongside the Taiwan International Student Design Competition Award Ceremony. This not only enriches the exhibition of the award-winning designs but also introduces more teachers and students in Taiwan to The Tolerance Project. This show was made possible by the effort of Prof. Apex Lin, Prof. Leo Lin and Miira Lin.   The announcement poster for the Taipei show is created by Leo Lin.

2nd Tolerance Posters Show in Zagreb, Croatia

On November 16th, the International Day of Tolerance , the Tolerance Poster Show was displayed in the center of Zagreb on the fence of the Botanical Garden . Here is a link to a short video of the show . Unfortunately only 24 hours later, the show was "attacked" by Neo-Nazis graffitis. On the posters, they wrote "NDH", which is the abbreviation for Nezavisna Država Hrvatska (Independent State of Croatia) a Second World War puppet state of Nazi Germany. On others, they graffitied the letter "U" which is the symbol for Ustaša the Second World War Croatian fascist organization. And they even wrote "Smrt Srbozločincima" (Death to the Serbian criminals). Luckily, the organizers of the show figured out how to remove this hate speech and the symbols. Outrage over this vandalism, was expressed through all news media in Croatia. Here , here , here , and here are some of the local media reactions. You can see the video of the show here . This show
