Tolerance Poster Show vs. Neo-Nazis

On Sunday, October 2nd, participants of the demonstration organized by the nazi party "Der III. Weg" (the third way) gathered at Oberer Bahnhof Plauen (train central) in the early afternoon. The police and media estimated a crowd of around 230 people. About 30 Tolerance posters hanging on the ceiling of the lobby hall of the train station "greeted" these participants.

The group started marching through the upper part of the city at 3:00 p.m., heavily secured and isolated by police forces, accompanied by several left-wing driven counter-demonstration groups and protesting citizens. Around 4:00 p.m., the group passed by another strategically positioned 20 Tolerance posters mounted on a fence between the elementary school "Karl-Marx-Schule" and kindergarten "Pusteblume" (Dandelion).

We are very grateful to Susann Schmidt (PR department of Vogtlandkreis court house), who campaigned beyond all measures for this relaunch of The Tolerance Project (You may have received it already). Furthermore, we thank Frank Zabel (Municipal Prevention Council of Plauen) for organizing the poster display on the fences and Ralf Fischer (CEO Sachsendruck Plauen GmbH) for his massive support for the initiative and for securing all printing productions.

The last image shows a local newspaper article about the Tolerance Poster Show and the people involved in organizing it.

The Red House is a historical building that has over 500 visitors per day.   The Tolerance Poster Show takes place alongside the Taiwan International Student Design Competition Award Ceremony. This not only enriches the exhibition of the award-winning designs but also introduces more teachers and students in Taiwan to The Tolerance Project. This show was made possible by the effort of Prof. Apex Lin, Prof. Leo Lin and Miira Lin.   The announcement poster for the Taipei show is created by Leo Lin.

2nd Tolerance Posters Show in Zagreb, Croatia

On November 16th, the International Day of Tolerance , the Tolerance Poster Show was displayed in the center of Zagreb on the fence of the Botanical Garden . Here is a link to a short video of the show . Unfortunately only 24 hours later, the show was "attacked" by Neo-Nazis graffitis. On the posters, they wrote "NDH", which is the abbreviation for Nezavisna Država Hrvatska (Independent State of Croatia) a Second World War puppet state of Nazi Germany. On others, they graffitied the letter "U" which is the symbol for Ustaša the Second World War Croatian fascist organization. And they even wrote "Smrt Srbozločincima" (Death to the Serbian criminals). Luckily, the organizers of the show figured out how to remove this hate speech and the symbols. Outrage over this vandalism, was expressed through all news media in Croatia. Here , here , here , and here are some of the local media reactions. You can see the video of the show here . This show
