Tolerance Posters

As a part of 5th Festival House Of Tolerance the Tolerance Poster Show opened on March 21st. A number of the posters were displayed on the buildings of the Mini Teater where the festival was happening and the other posters were displayed in the nearby square.          

During the month of February and for the second time in less than a year Chavon the school of design affiliated to Parsons the New School for Design presented on its campus in the city of Santo Domingo the Tolerance Poster show . This show will hold a number of new posters as well as the inclusion of posters from the last show. I would especially like to thank Adolfo Lucero, Vice President of the school, because it was his idea to create a second rendition of the show.   

The leading Arabic advertising magazine, Arab Ad   formed among students and professionals organized a contest for true Arabic countries to compete for the best Tolerance Poster design after being inspired by the show’s message.  Arts and Design and the Communication Arts Department at the American University of Science and Technology [AUST] decided to organize an exhibition of their students and students from other Universities. These students works were combined with the Tolerance Poster Show.  The University especially acknowledged the achievements of 5 AUST students from the top 10 finalists from 160 entries: Marie louise Al Haber, Lynn Hishi, Lynn Khrais, Aya Tawbeh; and of the #1 winner among all the universities students, AUST's student Lara Gharzzedine. As part of Black History Month, the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb has organized an exhibit of Tolerance Posters Show in all 5 American Corner locations throughout Croatia. For the show the U.S. Embassy chose posters of ten American designers. Here are a few show photographs from the City Libraries of Vukovar, Zadar, Zagreb, Osjek and Rijeka . Tolerance Poster Show was part of the PLAN B fest youth festival in Kharkiv, Ukraine.  The festival lasted for from February 15-17th and was attended by 2000 young visitors. The Show united day and night locations. The exhibition took place simultaneously in Mental Complex Studio, the festival’s daytime location and was presented on the Loft stage of the Opera Theater CXID OPERA, where the main night venue of Plan B festival took place. The show was put together by a bunch of young volunteers. After the festival the organizer gave the volunteers a chance to choose a posters of their liking to take home as an award for their hard work. On January 23rd the Tolerance Poster Show was open in Salt Lake City, Utah. It happened simultaneously in a few different locations and there is more to come. The show appeared on the streets and appeared in a local park that currently is under construction. Salt Lake County Art and Culture Center is debuting posters and showcasing them on a screen at Salt Lake Film Society, in the main theater. This theater will also be hosting The Sundance Film Festival, where all visitors will have a chance to see Tolerance posters. At the same time the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center were displaying the posters in their lobby. The show is also featured in Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) ACME Lab . Due to limited space not all posters were possible to be displayed in the gallery. But all posters were displayed on computer screens.
